This resource is a fun way to introduce young children to story making and telling and working in small groups. The objectives are to encourage creativity, teamwork, speaking and listening and story telling skills. There is a planning sheet included with a sample story created using some of the story cards. The sets of symbol cards include; who, what, when, where, how and the End There is a set of colour symbol cards that go with each of these headings. Children will choose a card from each of the sections and put these together imaginatively to tell a simple story. This resource consists of two worksheets, each focusing on Toys. The first worksheet covers numbers 1 to 5, the second covers numbers 6 to 10.Sheet 3 is a blank template that can be used in a variety of ways. Each worksheet includes five colour pictures of different toys, such as balls, blocks, dolls, and crayons. Children count the toys and cut out the images. There are matching number cards for each toy picture. Children can write the corresponding number, trace the numeral, and then match these cards to the colour toy pictures on the worksheets. There are also cards displaying the names of the toys. Children can practice their writing skills, cut out the toy names, and match them to the appropriate toy pictures.
